Somehow women find it easier to talk to their friends and family doctor than to seek advice elsewhere and this could indeed be limiting in some way. Perhaps it is dues to the fact that they are not made aware of the many women’s health services that are provided other than just from their doctors. These are there to act as primary or secondary ports of call especially in family planning and pregnancy.

These women’s health services are more than just places to obtain information; they are also places that will provide you with personal attention and care.

Getting the Right Service For You

If you find yourself in dilemma of whether or not you are ready to have a family, it is understandable that you will need to seek some form of professional advice. Curing Stress At Work

Did you know that up to 75 percent of all the time lost in the workplace is stress related? I love deadlines, Its the wooshing sound they make as they fly on by.. Douglas Adams. Deadlines mean one thing, stress! This article explains ways you can cope with work related stress.

Being placed in situations that demand the impossible is bound to lead to stress. Unrealistic deadlines to meet useless goals, enforced by unreasonable managers - are an all too common scenario. But individuals who find themselves in such circumstances still have options.

There are a dozen small, stress-relieving exercises that can help ease the symptoms while working toward the long-term cure. Stress produces a number of well-documented physiological effects like muscle tension, shallow breathing and compromised immune system. To combat these, you can take direct action.

Take a few deep breaths, slowly. No need to go into some kind of Zen state, just allow yourself to expand the chest and relieve tension around the center of the body. Stretch the arms and shoulders. Gently work the head from side to side. Flex the calves.

Take a few minutes to work on your mental processes as well. Stress at work often inhibits the ability to focus or concentrate effectively. It decreases memory retention on needed items because the irritation causes focus to shift to the fact of being angry.

While you’re breathing deeply, close your eyes and meditate for a couple of minutes. Again, that doesn’t require any form of deep relaxation, just a moment to let the external world go. At the same time, you don’t want to focus solely on the anger or stress you’re feeling. Focus on an internal image of something pleasant - a child’s face, the family dog, a great golf swing, anything that works for you.

Now that you’ve tackled the symptoms, go after the roots of the problem.

Many choose to start their own businesses. That choice brings with it a whole new set of challenges, but the overarching benefit is the freedom to meet them. You’ll find yourself working long hours with little recognition. But, even in the absence of large external rewards, the internal rewards - the satisfaction, the feeling of being the ‘commander of your own ship’ - is frequently cited as a major incentive for those who keep trying.

Many others will try to work for positive change within their current organization. Even when those efforts are only partially successful, individuals report that they gain satisfaction from the knowledge that they are not simply accepting their unpleasant fate passively.

You can make efforts to transfer to another job within the organization, or look forward to the day when that unreasonable boss will have moved on. Remember, very few things in any company stay the same for more than six months to a year.

While you’re waiting for better circumstances, focus on the process less than the results. Keep a realistic attitude about what is and what is not within your control. Try not to let the latter matter very much. Seek out the cooperative individuals in the company and don’t burden yourself with trying to change the others.

By all means, let off some steam to trusted friends and family members outside work. At work, stay focused on the task.

If you find it difficult to switch off once you leave the office try the totally tranquil stress relief recordings

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS)

Did you know we still know very little about what happens to us during sleep? For instance scientists have still not been able to explain why shining a bright light on the back of a persons knees reset’s the brains sleep - awake clock even though it was first documented over 10 years ago in 1998.

Restless Legs Syndrome is a condition that causes an uncomfortable feeling in the legs. These feelings intensify when lying down or when sitting. The only way an affected individual can make these uncomfortable feelings go away is by getting up and moving around. When the feelings occur during sleep, which is common, the person must first awaken and then move. Restless legs syndrome is considered a sleeping disorder because of the constant disruption of sleep.

An uncomfortable feeling in the legs and arms is the most common symptom. These feelings can be difficult to describe, but sufferers know the feelings aren’t cramps or pain in the muscles. RLS causes a tingling, prickling or burning sensation. Some claim their legs feel as if tiny bugs are crawling under the skin. These feelings are more prominent during nighttime and are brought about by inactivity. These symptoms can subside and then recur and can vary in intensity.

Involuntary leg flexing and extension is another symptom of RLS. Called Periodic Limb Movements of Sleep (PLMS), most who exhibit this problem aren’t even aware of it because it occurs during sleep. PLMS does keep you from entering a deep sleep and can cause disruptive sleep for anyone else sleeping in the same bed.

RLS appears to be associated with a release of the chemical dopamine which controls muscle movement. It may be hereditary since it runs in the families of 50% of the sufferers. Stress and pregnancy can aggravate the symptoms. A deficiency of iron can cause symptoms to appear as can nerves in the hands and feet that have become damaged because of alcoholism or diabetes.

RLS is difficult to diagnose for several reasons. First, the symptoms can actually be caused by a number of other conditions including stress, muscle cramps and nerves. Second, those with symptoms simply don’t seek medical attention. However when RLS is suspected, diagnosis is made by evaluating the answers to a number of different questions your doctor will ask. Questions involve describing the feelings including their frequency and what makes them go away and describing your sleeping patterns. A visit to a sleep clinic where your sleep can be closely monitored is often used to help make a correct diagnosis.

Movement is the way most people treat restless leg syndrome. Walking, stretching, twitching and exercise are the types of movements most choose. However, if RLS is found to have an underlying cause such as an iron deficiency, treating that cause typically helps the symptoms of RLS fade away.

Lifestyle changes and medication are also commonly recommended treatments for the symptoms of RLS. Muscle relaxants, medicines to treat Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy, antidepressants and opiods are commonly prescribed. Since these medications are designed to treat other medical conditions, their use as a treatment for RLS can have mixed results.

Non-prescription treatments include over-the-counter pain relievers, hot or cool packs, massage, yoga, exercise and development of a sleep routine that encourages better sleep.

If you are suffering from sleep problems you can get a simple diagnosis to discover if its restless legs syndrome or some other problem by answering just 7 questions online. Just click here, it only takes 2 minutes.

Alcohol And Heart Disease

There are conflicting reports on whether or not alcohol intake is one of the causes of coronary heart disease. There have been claims made that drinking red wine in moderateness can actually help to keep you heart disease free. However, excessive amounts of alcohol, even red wine, can lead to all sorts of health related problems. So, just to be on the safe side, if you are going to drink, always drink in moderation. Whether or not alcohol consumption is a cause of coronary heart disease, you should try to drink as little as possible to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Smoking

Smoking is definitely a cause of coronary heart disease. It’s disgusting and unhealthy but it’s also very hard to quit once you’ve started. Talk to your doctor about smoking cessation products or prescriptions and make sure you stay away from this cause of coronary heart disease.

Even walking three or four times per week for thirty or forty five minutes can do wonders for your waist line as well as your health. Not exercising is a cause of coronary heart disease, just make sure not to overdo it and always talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program.

Genetics

You could live the safest lifestyle out of anyone you know and you could still come down with coronary heart disease because it could run in your genes. Get regular medical examinations and continue to live healthy and you should be able to keep heart disease at bay as long as you refrain from the major causes of coronary heart disease; even if it does run in your family.
