While elevated glucose levels can contribute to both Autonomic and Peripheral neuropathies. What elevated glucose numbers do is actually exacerbate the Complications that are a part of the Disease process itself(I am referring to T1DM). Longevity of Diabetes plays a great part in the development of these Complications. T1DM is a complex Disease(Auto-Immune) that is more than about numbers!! Just a correction to some of your statements regarding Neuropathy in Diabetes.
