For those who live an unhealthy lifestyle, such as eating fast foods, drinking alcohol regularly, smoking and never finding the time to exercise, are a prime target for congestive heart disease. This disease kills many people year in and year out; but it doesn’t have to. If you don’t lead a very healthy lifestyle, you really should get checked out by your doctor to make sure you don’t already have congestive heart disease and if you don’t, you’re lucky and you still have the chance to turn your lifestyle and your body around. If you do have congestive heart disease, ask your doctor if there is anything they can do for you. When it comes to heart disease though, prevention is the biggest life saver and we’ve put together a few tips on how to prevent congestive heart disease.

Get A Balanced Diet

One of the major causes of congestive heart disease is eating foods high cholesterol, sodium, fat, sugar and other harmful ingredients. The problem is that most restaurants serve these types of foods on a regular basis and they are prominently displayed on many restaurant commercials and in their menus. You can still eat out and you can make healthy food choices, you just have to make a conscious effort to do so. You should try to eat as many of your meals at home, or bring your lunches with you to work. That way, you know exactly what’s in the food that you’re eating and you can help keep congestive heart disease at bay.

Smoking And Alcohol

Everyone has their vices. However, if you smoke and you drink too much, you could be at risk for congestive heart disease. Smoking is very hard to quit and so is alcohol if you’re an alcoholic. Drinking in moderation is ok, but smoking should be stopped immediately. Try smoking cessation products or even prescriptions from your doctor and try to find other ways to pass your time rather than spending all your free time at the bar if you hope to keep away from congestive heart disease.

Exercise

Many of us lead sedentary lifestyles. We may sit at a desk all day at work and then go home and veg in front of the TV. This can lead to congestive heart disease as well. So get outside as often as you can. Run on the treadmill, walk around the block, or just walk up and down a flight of stairs a few times. Work that heart and keep it healthy and you can hopefully keep yourself from ever coming down with congestive heart disease.

Just remember to get regular checkups from you Doctor, especially if congestive heart disease runs in your family and try to lead a healthy lifestyle if you hope to keep away from this silent killer that takes many American lives each and every year. The first thing you should do if you are serious about congestive heart disease prevention is to check out the report written by Dr. Robert D. Willix Jr, the famous heart surgeon who has developed techniques for preventing and even curing all types of heart disease without the need for surgery. You can click here for details of how to download his life saving report. We believe him to be the leading authority on what causes heart diseases and how to prevent it happening to you.
